Tungsten carbide (WC), a compound composed of tungsten (W) and carbon (C), is characterized by its high density, melting point, and hardness, along with strong oxidation resistance, moderate electrical conductivity, and notable toughness. It plays an irreplaceable role in complex and harsh operating environments involving strong acids, strong alkalis, high pressure, and abrasive particles, and serves as an ideal material for oil drilling bits.
